District Attorney Brooke Jenkins Announces Raymond Tidd Convicted for Potrero Hill Drive By Shooting

A jury convicted Tidd of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle

San Francisco, CA – Today, San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced that her office secured a guilty conviction of Raymond Tidd, 38, in connection to a drive-by shooting in Potrero Hill after trial by jury on October 31, 2022. Tidd was found guilty of assault with a semi-automatic firearm and drive by shooting. The jury also found allegations that Tidd used a firearm in the commission of his crimes to be true and that he caused the victim great bodily injury. Tidd had previously pled guilty, pre-trial, to possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a loaded gun, and having a concealed firearm. Tidd shot at Nelson Glendinning from a white Mercedes Benz SUV, drove away and returned to shoot at him a second time, hitting him in the right thigh, severing his femoral vein.

“This verdict holds Tidd accountable for his crimes and condemns gun violence,” said District Attorney Brooke Jenkins. “I would like to thank the jury for their service and careful consideration of all the facts in this case. I am glad that Mr. Glendinning lived to see justice be achieved in this case, unlike many other victims of gun violence who often tragically do not survive these incidents”

The case against Tidd was successfully prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Robert “Trey” Perkins with assistance from Assistant District Attorney Heather Trevisan. Investigators from the San Francisco Police Bayview Station and District Attorney’s Office Investigator Tim Weaver played a pivotal role in this case, developing the suspect and gathering all of the evidence that led to a successful prosecution.

“The police did an incredible job investigating this case,” said Assistant District Attorney Robert “Trey” Perkins. “The SFPD’s testimony was also pivotal to the jury’s deliberation which found Raymond Tidd guilty for his senseless shooting of Nelson Glendinning.”

Tidd has been in custody since his arrest. He will be sentenced at a future date not yet set and may be facing over 22 years in State Prison.
