Meet Pink and Red

These dogs supplement our work by providing non-judgemental comfort and support to children and vulnerable adult victims during the forensic interviews, exams, and court and other legal proceedings. 


On November 4, 2008, the People of the State of California approved Proposition 9, the Victims' Bill of Rights Act of 2008: Marsy's Law. This measure amended the California Constitution to provide additional rights to victims. Below are a just a few of those rights:

  • To have the safety of the victim and the victim’s family considered when determining the defendant's bail amount and release conditions
  • To have seized property promptly returned when no longer needed as evidence
  • To reasonable notice of all public proceedings where defendant is entitled to be present


  • U non-immigrant visa for undocumented victims of certain crimes
  • Referrals to local resources to assist with U Visa


  • A victim or witness may request a court escort due to immigration concerns
  • Victim Services will reach out to the Rapid Response Network to assist in making any required services if notified that immigration officials are in the courthouse.
