Other desirable qualifications include fluency in a foreign language as well as prior criminal law experience. Internship Opportunities
The District Attorney’s Office is seeking motivated students who are interested in gaining hands on experience in the criminal justice system and working to help the District Attorney represent the People of San Francisco. The District Attorney’s Office offers a variety of opportunities for eligible students (including high school students attending San Francisco high schools, undergraduate, paralegal and law school students). The District Attorney’s Office offers the following positions for qualified applicants:
- Summer Law Clerks: Law students who work fulltime in our office during the summer
- Legal Interns: Law students who intern during the school year to gain experience
- Law School Fellows: students who receive academic credit for working in the DA’s Office. These positions require prior approval from the student’s respective law school.
- College and High School Interns: students who intern in the office to gain experience

Due to the high number of applications received for all of the programs, the following applications deadlines will be strictly enforced. People of color, disabled individuals, and members of the LGBTQ community are strongly encouraged to apply.
